What is Bowl For Kids’ Sake?

Think of “Bowl For Kids’ Sake” as a statement rather than an event. It’s definitely not about bowling. It’s about having fun with friends, family, neighbors, or colleagues to help kids. Give them a call to help sponsor your bowl, or recruit them to bowl with you. You are taking part in our most important fund-raising event. All the money you help raise goes directly toward matching children with a Big Brother or Big Sisters in your community.

How does Big Brothers Big Sisters make a difference in our community?

Big Brothers Big Sisters is the premier mentoring organization in the nation. We place carefully screened, caring adults into the lives of children who could use some special guidance. Compared to their peers, Little Brothers and Sisters are:

46% less likely to initiate drug use
27% less likely to start drinking alcohol
55% less likely to skip school

These are important results when one considers the many risks faced by young people in today’s society. That’s why finding and matching volunteers to our growing list of children is so vital.

Who Bowls For Kids?

If you can spare a little time for fun, and care about kids, then you would be a perfect Bowl For Kids’ Sake bowler. Anyone and everyone can get involved. It’s not your skill or your score that counts. You can be a bowler, a team captain, a sponsor – or all three! It’s an easy and fun way to make a difference.

How Does It Work?

Each team is made up of five participants; a team captain and four other bowlers. The goal is for each bowler to raise $100.00 for a T-shirt (minimum pledge per bowler is $50.00).
All participants receive pizza, soda, bowling, and chances at door prizes.

We take care of billing your sponsors. As a bowler, you just sign up sponsors on the pledge sheet or through our online website that you customize to you, and then go have fun at your bowl. Big Brothers Big Sisters will send your sponsors information on where to mail their pledges. You can win fabulous prizes, and go home with the satisfaction that your efforts will put a little magic in the lives of the kids in your community.

Each team captain completes a sign-up sheet with their team information, and then we will provide the captain with a T-shirt and a packet for your team.
