Mission Statement:
“Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami County
helps boys and girls, most of whom are considered at risk and live
in
single-parent
homes, achieve their full potential through long-term personal
relationships with carefully screened and caring volunteers.”
BBBS of
Miami County was first started as a satellite of Sedgwick County
in January 2000. Due to the growth of the program state wide,
Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters was formed and we are now an
affiliate of KSBBBS. We serve children ages 5-17 who need a positive
role model and friend in their lives. We match these children
with carefully screened adults in a one-on-one relationship.
We match Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Married Couples and Families.

We currently
have 19 children matched to a Big Brother, Big Sister or a couple
match however, we have another 15 children from our community
on our waiting list for a Big Brother or Big Sister. To find
out how you can become a “Big” or if you would like
information on how you can help the agency in other ways, please contact
our office.
