BBBS of SG County goes Skeet Shooting

October 21st, Ark Valley Gun Club

BBBS Staff and their Littles enjoyed a beautiful fall evening as guests of the Ark Valley Gun Club getting an introduction to shotgunning in general and Skeet Shooting in particular. In all, 25 Bigs and 18 Littles participated. Of these, over 80% had little or no exposure to the shooting sports before this event. Marc Murrell from Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks was on hand to work with new shooters, teaching them the basics of shotgunning prior to having them try their hand on the skeet field.

Experienced shooters went directly to the skeet fields where club president Dan Hardesty and other members took the participants through a round of skeet.

Thanks to Randy Wells, who spent the evening manning the grill and keeping the hotdogs ready for all.

Bowling for Kids Sake Director Angie is showing off her form.	Little Brother Mario (standing taller than Marc!) was breaking 'em left & right!	Little Sister _______ had a great time on her first shooting opportunity!
Shooting incoming targets, Marc was able to get several of the shooters to not only break the target, but to break a piece of that target with a 2nd shot!	Marc helps Little Sister _________ with a few pointers as she turns some targets to dust.	Big Melinda was breaking them like she had been at it for awhile! Marc later commented that she was one of the most natural shooters he had seen. Way to go Melinda!
Little Charlie got to show off his skills, with Marc giving him pointers.	Little Calvin impressed his Big Brother Jim with his shooting abilities, breaking 4 out of his last 5 targets!
