— The Coleman
Company will donate 10 full outdoor camping sets to Big Brothers
Big Sisters Pass It On program for use by Bigs and Littles. On
Tuesday, March 16th at 7:00 p.m. at the Coleman Concept Center
at 3600 N. Hydraulic, Bigs and Littles will be trained on how
to use all of the camping equipment.
The 10 new camping sets include tents, sleeping bags, stoves,
coolers, lanterns, flashlights, furniture and cooking sets.
“We
are thrilled to be able to provide the training and equipment
that kids need to go out and experience the great outdoors,”
said Kim Morrissey, Manager of Youth and Outdoor
Program Development.
Campers will be able to check out the equipment for trips with
their Bigs anytime through Big Brothers Big Sisters office.
“Coleman
has been an outstanding supporter of BBBS. We are grateful to
be able to provide access to this great equipment to our matches.
They will have a wonderful time using it while enjoying the great
Kansas outdoors,” said Mike Christensen, Director of Outdoor
Mentoring.
Pass It On, BBBS’ outdoor mentoring program, matches Littles
with mentors who want to pass on their passion for the outdoors.
Currently, there are over 1,200 children currently waiting for
a mentor in Sedgwick County.
