"Big Fish for a Day" with BBBS of Harvey Co.

On May 22, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Harvey County sponsored a "Big Fish for a Day." Thirteen children participated in the event, eight of whom are currently on the waiting list for a Big Brother or Sister.

The event ws held at Kent a Jo Dove's farm, who provided the pond of fish and the food. Patty Mellinger volunteered to drive everyone to the farm in the comfort of a city bus. Kansas BBBS provided all of the fishing gear for the children and the volunteers, thanks to the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. Everyone had a great time catching fish, eating and getting to know one another. Thanks to everyone who volunteered!
