Outdoor Adventure Camp 2004

July 17-22, 2004

The Kansas Wildlife Federation and KSU Cooperative Extension Service hosted the Outdoor Adventure Camp July 17-22 at the WaShunGa Area of Rock Springs Ranch. This year, 2 Littles from BBBS of Sedgwick County, 3 Littles from BBBS of Barton County and 1 Little from Pony Express BBBS attended on scholarships from the Outdoor Writers Association.

Activities included conaoeing, fishing, shooting sports (rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader, archery and pellet gun), hroseback riding and crafts. Instructors took the campers on an owl watch and saw barred owls light in the branches just a few feet away. They learned to identify insects and plants and learned about spiders and bats.
