Douglas Co. Wingshooting, 7/29
July
29, 2004
The
Douglas Co. BBBS agency hosted a wingshooting clinic at the Cedar
Hill Gun Club, with volunteers from the Jayhawk Quail Unlimited
Chapter and other volunteers helping with the instruction. It was
a wonderful evening and the conditions were perfect for spending
time outdoors learning to shoot.
Both
matches and waiting Littles participated in the event, and everyone
had a great time. For many of the Littles, it was their first opportunity
to shoot a shotgun and many of them proved quite capable of busting
clays on a consistent basis.
The
event peaked the interest of several of the Littles enough that
they inquired about the STEP OUTSIDE Scholastic Clay Target Program
hosted at Cedar Hill Gun Club. When the QU volunteers saw the interest,
they made plans to provide the $$'s for the Littles to participate.
Five
Littles who expressed interest in furthering their shooting skills
were then provided scholarships to participate in the SCTP program
at Cedar Hill.
Thanks
to everyone who made the evening a fun time for all, and a BIG
THANKS to the Jayhawk Chapter of Quail Unlimited for
sponsoring the young shooters in the SCTP!
