Fishing with the Seward Co JuCo
Saints Baseball Team, 9/12

Twelve waiting Littles had all the attention they could stand when they spent a Sunday afternoon fishing at a neighborhood pond in Liberal, KS. The 30 members of the Seward County Junior College Saints baseball team, along with their coach, Galen McSpadden, and assistant coaches paired off with the Littles and had a great time reelin' 'em in!

This was the first of several events the athletic department at Seward Co. Junior College will be joining with BBBS on this school year. In 2003, they went fishing and clay target shooting a number of times as well. Plans are in the works for another couple of fishing events, a wingshooting clinic and a training hunt.

In speaking to the team at the conclusion of the afternoon, Coach McSpadden said, "There are two kinds of folks in this world. One that thinks the world owes them and one that gives back. By becoming a Big Brother, you can be the second kind." 13 ballplayers have since signed on as Big Brothers.
