Kansas Pass
It On receives $7,500 Grant from KS RMEF PAC

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Kansas Project Advisory Committee
recently approved a grant in the amount of $7,500 for the Kansas
Big Brothers Big Sisters Pass It On program, to be used to purchase
needed equipment and gear to properly outfit Littles as they take
to the field.

"This grant will help get some of the necessary gear that
we need to be able take our Littles to the field and have a positive
experience hunting and fishing," said Mike Christensen, Director
of Outdoor Mentoring Projects for Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters. "We
have earmarked these funds to provide popup blinds, camouflage
clothing, game calls, hunting vests, fishing rods/reels, and ammunition."
The Pass It On program provides the fishing rods/reels, popup
blinds and camouflage clothing on a loaner basis to matches and
for use at BFAD events. The ammunition will be available to Littles
for hunting and shooting sports activities.
"The support the Pass It On program has received from the
Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation has been fantastic," praised
Mike. "We would really like to see the other conservation
groups step forward like they have. If we had this kind of support
from the other groups, we could make a huge difference in the lives
of kids across Kansas and across the nation." |
