Trap & Skeet League

In mid February, Sub T–16 (ACU men’s Social Club), Big Country Bird Hunters Association, and West Texas Quail Unlimited teamed with Big Brothers Big Sisters to put on a mentoring event titled Quail 101. The event proved to be such an outstanding success that the men of Sub-T 16 have taken on a new mentoring project called the Trap and Skeet Challenge.

The men of Sub-T are mentoring seven Littles through a skeet and trap league at the Abilene Clay Sports Range on Monday evenings for seven weeks. The first outing was safety orientation and a review of range procedures as well as a practice round. The final six weeks will be for score.

Sub-T men T.C Smith, Andy Hill, Jeff Phillips, Jeremy Beck, Tyler Davis, Justin Abel and Chris Churchill have stepped up to the challenge and are Big Brothers. All participants will receive Pass It On t-shirts and will compete for other awards.

Hats off to Ken Perry and Dale Scoggins at the Abilene Gun Range for their help and assistance in making this a fun and safe outdoor event!
