Outdoor Survival Class, 5/1-2

May 1 & 2, 2004

Eight local outdoor mentors met May 2 & 3, 2004 at the Ickler Ranch near Ovalo, Texas to receive outdoor instruction and certification from nationally-renown Dr. John Weishaar of Round Rock, Texas. Class topics included fire building techniques, shelter construction, emergency signaling, map and compass, natural navigation, knots and lashings, hypothermia detection and prevention, solar stills, survival kit assembly and other outdoor skills.
