Jim Kitson and Jordan started out as a match in the Bigs in School program. They were matched for almost a year when they decided that they would like to be matched in the community based program and have been since June 2007. Jim sees Jordan every Wednesday for a couple of hours. Jim has gone to Jordan’s rec basketball games; video taped the games, and put them on the internet to share with others.

February

Eric and Nan and Jerry Hawver have been matched a little over a year now but Eric was matched to Nan in a BIS match for two years prior to their becoming a couples match to Eric. They got along so well at school that they wanted spend more time together. Eric likes everything they do together but really loves fishing with Jerry. When asked about his Big Couple, Eric said, “They are great. Can’t find the words to describe them. It’s such a big word, NICE.”

Joey Ralph and George have been matched for over 2 years and even though Joey is away for school at KU, he still takes the time to visit with George twice a month while he is home visiting.

They like to play basketball, video games, go cruising or just go out to eat. Joey has a close relationship with George and he feels as if he is part of the family now!!

April

Justin Schwab and Brenden have been matched since November of 2005. Justin visits with Brenden at school once a week. Justin is going to be attending college this next fall and has decided that he and Brenden should convert to a community based program so they can continue to see each other while Justin is at college. They like to do homework, play games, read, and talk.
