Miscellaneous Help Needed Bowl For Kids' Sake Volunteer Help Researchers: Looking up missing, invalid and incomplete addresses and phone numbers through the Internet. Available Tuesday-Thursday 9:00am-5:00pm. Callers: Follow up calls to bowlers and sponsors for missing scores, addresses and other information. Available Tuesday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm. Callers must be comfortable on the phone. Auditor: Comparing pledge sheets to computer printouts to ensure accuracy for billings. Must be detail oriented. Available Tuesday-Thursday 9:00am-5:00pm. Copier: Make photocopies of checks from sponsors requesting more information. Available Tuesday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm. Callers: Make follow up calls to unpaid BFKS sponsors to verify mailing address. (Starts in late May through December) Call nights are usually Tuesday & Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. Summer Vacation: Calls can be made Monday- Friday during office hours. Callers must be comfortable on the phone. A script and refreshments are provided. “Volunteers in Process” Calling. Help call high school students who have indicated an interest in volunteering to determine whether they want to start in the summer or fall and to get them signed up for the next step. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between noon and 6:00 or Saturdays from 10:30 to 1:00. Assemble Materials. Help us put together information packets to send to volunteers who’ve indicated interest in volunteering or assemble folders with activities for matches to do at the schools. Mailings. Stuff envelopes and attach labels to get mailings ready to go out. Assembling Handbooks. Help assemble the handbooks that are distributed to volunteers when they come for training. Updating computer records. We need to add the year of graduation to our high school volunteers in process. We also need to update their records with the date they’ve attended training. Filing. Though we’re trying to do more and more on the computer, there’s still filing that needs to be done regularly. All of these opportunities can be done on a one-time or regular basis. We'd like to assemble a regular “Volunteers in Process” calling team so we had a steady stream of those volunteers. |
