About Us In 1999 a steering committee was formed by a group of concerned citizens from around the county, who envisioned helping boys and girls who needed additional guidance and support in their lives. The Board of Directors was formed in December of that year and in March 2000 the first Bowl For Kid’s Sake fundraiser was held. A Director and Assistant Director were hired and the doors were opened on June 1, 2000. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sumner County is a non-profit organization serving all of Sumner County. The school districts included in this area are Wellington, Argonia, Belle Plaine, Caldwell, Conway Springs, Oxford and South Haven. Staff Carrie Chekal Joan Loughmiller Shea Arebalo
