Corps – Intergenerational volunteers who
have reached the age of 50 serve as mentors to Littles in any of
our programs. These volunteers are passionate, active, energetic,
experienced and committed to making a positive contribution to
a child. The volunteers have a lot to share and children are anxious
to learn from them.
Pass
It On – Outdoor Mentors – In partnership
with the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, BBBS has
developed a program to promote mentoring while introducing
hunting, fishing and conservation into the lives of our Littles.
Pass It On encourages sportsmen and women to be matched in
our community-based program with children from our waiting
list to pass on the heritage of the outdoors.
Cops
For Kids – This unique collaboration with law enforcement
brings both matched and waiting youth together with local police
officers, sheriff’s deputies, state troopers, etc. Activities
for these matches are designed to break down the communication
barriers between youth from high-risk backgrounds and the people
who enforce the law.
