Times
Change; Big Brother's Impact Doesn't - June,
2005
Wichita
police Capt. John Speer can remember looking out when he was
10 or 11 and seeing a young man walk up to his home on the
city's southwest side.
It's around 1976. The man wears Dingo boots, the ones with
the square toes, metal rings and straps across the ankle. He
looks tall. He has come to be the boy's Big Brother. READ MORE

Matches
Meet Martina McBride - January,
2005
Two lucky
matches were chosen to meet Martina McBride at her holiday concert
on December 5th. The Littles wrote essays telling why they are
Martina fans and what they enjoy about their Bigs. KSBBBS received
more than 40 essays from across the state. A committee chose
the winners. Below are copies of the winning essays and photos
from the evening.
Martina
and her husband John McBride were a Big Couple at BBBS of Sedgwick
County before they moved to Nashville. She has continued to support
Kansas BBBS. Recently, she donated the $1500 proceeds from an
online auction to KSBBBS.
